I called South Dakota yesterday afternoon explained that I would be traveling there this July to meet the foster family that had raised me for the first 17 months of my life They said that in a days time I would be able to recieve my adoption file I am so excited. When I planned this trip I never dreamed I would be locating my birth parents names.
My story has been a little diffrent. My adoptive parents never told me I was adopted I learned of the adoption in 2000 at 32 years old. I was raised in Virginia so many states away. I reseached my non ident. info and found the foster family that had cared for me pre adoption. They kept very good records on me and to think after 33 years of being apart in a month we will be reunited and I will be opening my adoption file. This is a dream come true. |
