Interested in Heritage, Not in Meeting BirthParents

I am having a hard time finding what I am looking for. Unlike a lot of people I am more intersted in finding out my Heritage, History, Nationality, then my BirthParents. I am happy with what little i know about my BirthParents, but am interested in my backgroud. I was wondering if there is anywhere to find out this information without an extensive search for my birthmother/father. All i have is a last name and some discriptive characteristics about my self,(ie, height, hair color, facial makup, etc), and was hoping this would be enough to get a good idea about my Nationality. Any help in starting this search would be greatly appreicated.

Probably the only way you will be able to find out about your heritage and nationality is by finding out info about your birth parents/family.

If you were adopted through an adoption agency, you can contact them and ask for non-identifying information. This report will tell you about your nationality and some other facts about your birth parents. You can tell the social worker at the agency that you do not want contact at this time, just some basic information.

If your adoption was through an adoption attorney, there will be less information and no standard report available to you.

You can post to Colleen Buckner's Search Experts Board here at www.adopting.org for more specific search tips.

I hope you receive the information you desire to help you form a more complete picture of yourself.
