Birthmom Speaks Out
It seems that there are quite a fews reunion stories here that don't have happy endings! I find that almost impossible to believe! I am a birthmom who has found her son after 28 years. Not a single day of those 28 years went by without my wondering about him -- if he was alive or not, happy or not, wondering about me or not -- and hoping, praying, and planning for an eventual reunion. We found each other 3 weeks ago and it is just as wonderful as I hoped it would be -- actually, more so! I had steeled myself for the possibility that he wouldn't want any kind of relationship with me, or would harbor some ill feelings -- BUT none of that is true! He is a very loving man and I can hear the love in his voice when I speak with him! We have talked or e-mailed daily since we found each other and are now planning our 'physical' reunion for the end of July. I know that all of this initial excitement will wane somewhat in time, but right now we are both basking in the wonder of it all!! I truly hope that others are as fortunate as we are and have successful, happy reunions!

Adoptee speaks out too

He is an amazing person and has had no hesitation in telling all his family (including my half brothers and sisters) all about me, as no one knew about my birth and adoption. When I searched for him I had no idea what his reaction would be, I hoped that we would be able to get to know each other but this is far better than I ever hoped for. I am so happy for you and your birth son and I know exactly how you are feeling! It is nice to read about successful reunions and to those who are still looking or deciding if/when to look, please do it. You never know what you could be missing if you dont search. Best Regards! Alison
