Thumbs up Honesty

It should be ILLEGAL for social workers and lawyers to get away with lying to b-mothers,just to get them to sign away their chld,(what a shame that it is ALL ABOUT MONEY,and nothing else-anymore)!!!
Why is it ignored-BECAUSE MONEY TALKS!!!

Please go to the forum below entitled "Legal Issues (this board has three experts)" and read my posting entitled "Last Hope". I have been through the same thing, I'd tell you about it but it just hurts too much to keep repeating the details. I was lied to and cheated. My son had disappeared forever. For over a decade I've been searching for help, for answers. There are no answers. We have no legal recourse. Like you said: money talks. I'm sorry you went through this. Isn't it hard, sometimes, not to be bitter? Sincerely, Ivy

re:re: Love Bug

Your answer to this posting was so sweet it made me cry. I wish something could be done to obtain fair and ethical treatment for adoptees, birthmothers, and everyone else involved. It seems the only one who has any rights is the State and the agencies; they have the right to continue lying and coercing us, and nothing can be done about it. It's so hard to believe they can get away with it. Best wishes, Ivy

If we know of an agency who told lies we should speak out about that agency - name them so others will be warned. I am so sorry for all the birthmothers who have been lied to and coerced into giving up their baby.

I suppose I was luck to have been through my trauma in Ireland at least no money changed hands.

Sad state of affairs.

Money has no place in adoptions and it would be good idea if bmoms caught in scams would contact their state and local representatives, enough complaints will help the politicians do something I would think.

re:Emm

I would be more than happy to reveal the name of the agency that lied to me, however in reading the rules of this forum, I saw that it is prohibited to refer to " specific agencies or individuals by name", and can result in your post being deleted and in being permanently banned from the forums. I think it's more important to get the general message across (that there are unethical agencies out there) than to name the specific agency and risk being silenced forever. The name of my particular agency seems less and less relevant anyway, as I read all these dozens of posts that say the exact same thing happened to them. I doubt they were all clients of the same agency. apparently deception is a not-uncommon practice in this business.
