Lightbulb I agree....

Hi Rayma,

I really agree with your statement about adoptees speaking out on being abused in an afamily.

It appears that your opinion ruffled a few feathers!!

I believe that all people who have been victims of abuse should speak out. I speak from professional and personal experience when I say that IT IS THE SHAME THAT BINDS THE SECRETS!!!. I is often difficult enough to seek help, much less speak openly about the abuse suffered. When an adopted child has been told day in and day out... U SHOULD B GRATEFUL I GOT U, NO ONE ELSE WANTED U... that messeage is imprinted upon their psyche. So, it becomes even more painful 2 SPEAK OUT about something or someone U R supposed 2 B grateful for.
I encourage and support more adoptees in telling their truths...

Please remember,
That YOUR truth never needs defending.

Hello,
My name is Pat, and I was emotionally and physically abused by the family I lived with. These are the wounds that others do not see and they do run deep for all of us.
I suffered from PTSD and spent many years in therapy and the healing process has been ongoing.
I have worked through so much pain........ and now I want to give back to others.
Would like to get involved in activism and learn more how to help others.
Please let me know how to.
Sincerely,
Pat
