  • Since reuniting I definitely have those times when I look in the mirror I can occasionally see my bmom staring right back at me. It just amazes me. It's nice not being alone in the mirror anymore. Sometimes I even hear their voice or laugh in my own.

  • Update: CI got a call from my bmom and had a nice conversation. Bmom said she wanted to start with anonymous communications. I just finished typing my first letter and have to wait on the forms from the CI before she can forward the letter. I asked the CI if bmom was reluctant or hesitant to open communications with me and CI said bmom was not. Sure is hard to write a letter and stay within...

  • hey there, I just read yours and Paula's response and I'm in the same area as you guys are in both meeting up and starting a panel or support group. I too have met my birth family, and have quite the stories to tell. I have done some volunteer work back in S Korea, and with Holt International. If you both are interested you can email me as well. Pbwilke@gmail.com thank you, Phil

  • Thanks all, yeah, I am not sure what we'd want to tell him about his birth dad, because "he loved so much he made a plan for you to be cared for" is definitely not true, "he wanted to check you were OK" is part of the truth, as is "we made sure we sent photos for him but we don't think he ever asked for them" but what else we tell him is going to be a puzzle for the...

  • Yeah, I wish we had taken this in stages. We just basically skipped the whole sit down and talk about the past. I will be sure to not make this overwhelming for her. Thanks for the advice. I don't know what I'd do if I hadn't found this forum.

  • Birthmoms look for families that are family oriented. Fishing and camping trips.... never missing a childs school functions.... putting the child first.. and most of all....Loving that child as your own....I hope this helps. I wouldnt stress too much over religion.

  • by terra52 Last comment: Yesterday at 07:27 AM
  • Feb-2012. Although the Question was asked back in 1999 the Answer regarding adoption of an illegal alien is: (i.) It depends on what state you live in; (ii.) it depends on what attorney you consult: family law v. immigration law. I happen to live in the State of New York where you could ask 5 different attorneys this question and I guarantee you'll get 3 who will say "no" based on...

  • thanks for your response! she may have been there late 1967...we don't know exact time frames. whats strange is that family service of westchester did handle his adoption, on 3/12/68 according to the non-id so she must have also went back to st faiths as the 10 day seems to fit what you are all saying. he went to a foster home until 5-1-68 and then was adopted out by an agency. I'm not sure...
