Can you call social workers direct in that state - or do you need to go through your social worker? ~ Yes we had person contact with both the placing social worker and the adoption placement worker
Costs associated from that state ~ we paid it all out of pocket but should be reimbursed up to $1500 after finalization.
Does the state reimburse your state (IE in PA if yours state homestudy is used for a child from another state there is a cost associated) ~ We had a private agency do our homestudy, but yes TX is willing to reimburse for that as well, as long as we do not exceed our $1500. I feel that the tax credit will more than reimburse us though!
Did you travel to the other state to meet the child? ~ Yes. We, my son and I, went on a Friday and returned on a Wed with the child.
Transition visits? Not for our particular child, but maybe on some children.
