I live in California and my husband is in the process of adoption my daughter from my previous marriage. Our attorney is terminating my previous husbands parental rights on the ground of abandonment.
Our attorney stated that if the absent parent willfully have not seen nor communicated with the child for 6 months or more, this is considered abandonment.
