welcome to the boards and congrats! We found these boards to be incredibly supportive while we entered this adoption journey. dh and I are 44, and adopted our dd 13 months ago. we have an open adoption, with a ton of contact between bfamilies and our family. In fact, we view dd's birthfamilies as our own, and they feel the same.
we could not have done the past year without these boards, in fact, I can't imagine life without them!
while you may get info you didn't ask for
, you'll also get invaluable support. you'll find that there are many folks who have adopted via foster/adopt, as well as those of us parenting at an older age. hope we can be here for you the way everyone was there for me.
