Talking Matched in 4 days!

Let's just say, I hardly slept at all last night. I tossed and turned all night thinking about how blessed we are. It's almost sureal! What has happened to us is such a God thing, it feels like he's just dropping off a baby girl out of the sky to us (kind of like the stork)!

We were originally going through an agency locally to do foster/adopt for a caucasian or caucasian/hispanic girl 0-3 (we have 4 boys and a grown daughter (my step-daughter) in our family) and were waiting for a placement from them. However, the moment I got the e-mail from a facilitator on Sunday night that she had an urgent situation for a caucasian baby girl, I felt a sense of urgency. The couple originally matched with the birthmom backed out of the adoption. I called her on Monday and ended up thinking we wouldn't be pursuing this on Tueday because of my husband's initial desire to stick with our fost/adopt plan. The birthmom didn't like the profiles she got and asked specifically for our profile because she liked what the facilitator told her about us. Hubby said it wouldn't hurt since we didn't have to come up with any money. Sent the profile (that I quickly made up on the fly) to facilitator on Wednesday, birthmom got it yesterday, got the phone call that she picked us at 9:00 last night!

Here's the trippy stuff: After seeing a picture, birthmom looks like me, we both have long blonde hair, light eyes. We even both have long noses! I found out last night that she is exactly 8 days older than me - we are both 37, born the same year, even the same sign! Last but
not least, the facilitator shared with me that b-mom had a name in mind for baby, Rebecca Renee. I almost died! I told my mom earlier that day that if we were picked, I'd like to name the baby Rebecca Francis! Is that incredible?

Plus, there is not going to be a ultrasound mistake - she had an amnio, it's 100% a girl. Another cool thing, she's already had 5 kids, so she's cool that our family already has 5 kids (baby will be 6). (That alone in domestic adoption is a hard thing to overcome having a large family, plus being gender and race specific, you could wait for years!) She was excited that this will be the first baby girl in our family for 22 years. Rebecca will be the princess of this family!

Birthmom is very sure she want's to put baby up for adoption as her life is in turmoil right now. Just pray that everything goes smoothly and b-mom doesn't change her mind. That said, we may have a baby girl next week!!! B-mom's ready to pop any minute!
