Hi everyone. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I found out today that the publication has not yet been put in the paper. WHAT is the atty waiting on? However the biomom showed up unexpectedly at the DCS office one day last week. She asked the cw if she was getting her twins bac
k? The cw told her that she had an atty. That is a question she would need to ask her atty. However, the cw, told her, DCS WAS seking adoption and the tpr had been filed. The biomom then asked " Well am I getting my twins back?" This woman has no clue. She has already lost 2 other children and surrendered her last child up for adoption. She knows the system. She also had someone drop her off at the DCS office to pick up some clothes that I had sent by way of the cw (the biomom had a housefire where she had been staying, lost all her clothes, so I was asked if I had any I could donate to her which I did) . Her ride dropped her off and left. Well biomom was accustomed to having the previous cw take her home. So the biomom told the woman at front desk of DCS she needed a ride home. The woman asked the new cw if she could take the biomom home. SHe replied NO, I have a full schedule today." A few minutes later biomom back up to front asking same question. Finally the cw went to the biomom and told her NO she could not take her home. CW said the biomom just looked at her. Biomom said "Well am I supposed to sit here all day?" The cw told her that she (biomom) had better get back on the phone and call her ride back. That she should not have told her ride to go on. This is what this biomom has been doing all along. She has purchased 2 cars since I have had the twins. First car engine blew up. Then she bought a new one. She will ask for gas money, for money to eat on. SHe has asked me for money to buy lunch with and for gas money, as well as the previous cw. THIS new cw isn't playing that game with her. LOL So this just shows you the limited mental capacity this woman has. According to the cw and one of the meetings,this mental impairment goes back several generations on both sides. SO yes Dana, we will probably get out of fostercare after we adopt these twins. I want one more. I have always dreamed of having 6 kids. If we had gotten the chance to have gotten the last baby she had (she is a full sibling to the twins) we would have adopted her as well. Instead the stepbrother and his wife that adopted this baby girl will not allow the twins in this baby's life. I am not happy about that, but that is their decision. My husband is tired of all the meetings, conferences, cw, hearings and all the redtape that goes along with all this. After the twins are adopted, then he wants us to withdraw. I will miss not only the children but most of the workers for both DCS and CPS as well. I have had (mostly) positive experiences with them. 2 of them I call friends.
Yes with K and that LONG outdrawn case, we pray this is much quicker. I don not forsee the biomom having the where withall to appeal the case, but she is going to contest it. SO we will be going to trial. The case will be held in the same court that has been dealing with her practically all her life. They know this biomom as well as all of her family and their histories. SHe grew up in the fostercare system herself as did her sister, who is worse off mentally then biomom is.So we are just praying that this is over soon and we can get on with our lives.
Bumpkin, the twins are now 16 months old and they both just started walking. OH MY. They are doing wonderfully. Happy and healthy.
DOes anyone know if the goal is changed to the sole goal of adoption, does visitation stop? To my knowledge biomom has not asked for visitation and has not seen them since end of April. I have asked cw if we are doing visitation and she answered no, not that she knows of and biomom hasn't asked.
