My son is 12 1/2, has never seen his bio father in 12 years and no verbal contact since he was 5. He hasn't returned phone call etc... His name is on the birth certificate, however he has never paid child support.
I am getting married in a few months- my son has verbalized that he would like to change his name when we get married, and step-dad (to be) would like to adopt him.. anyone know what initial steps we need to take to do this. (bio dad was last in Hawaii, we are in Oregon) Any help would be greatly appreciated!
