From what I've learned (we're CC with an AA boy) the products are the same for boys and girls. We were told to use shampoos and moisturizers made for AA and switch to an oil (in place of moisturizing cream) when we notice the hair is drying out too quickly or the scalp is showing signs of dryness. We were also told to wash the hair only once or twice a week because too much will definitely dry and break their hair. My son is 8 months and we've not had any issues with dryness so far. For girls I would imagine you'd need something that really addressed tangles though! We keep ds' cut short enough that we don't even have to comb it unless it's haircut day.
Also, the best thing we were told (from an AA friend) to use on their skin is Cocoa Butter lotion. Not a drop of dryness on him since we switched to that!
