I'll scream for you. That must have been an incredibly frustrating call. I know you'd planned a bit of a celebration and it must be hard to tell your older kids that they'll have to wait.
personally, I found that people were more upfront with info preadoption than postadoption. I guess their feeling is 'you got the kid, be happy'-ugh. Our adoption won't be finalized til late summer at the earliest, and may not until fall!!!!! That would make dd at least a year, if not 15 or so months old by finalization. Everyone seems to be dragging their feet, plus we wanted a legally binding open adoption agreement with bdad.
maybe just celebrate today as "addy's day" and have that party:-).
