each agency is different
and has its own policy......there are many theraputic foster care agencies in VA, and every local public district seems to do their own thing as well....
If you lost a child, I just want to warn you that foster care is very traumatic.....The worst thing that ever happend to me was taking care for 3 wonderful, smart, great children for 14 months and seeing them returned to a crack addict b-mom who was living in a motel...so they could grow up to be druggies themselves ....and never getting to see them again.....I just adopted after that..
I think when my kids are grown I may foster older teens of just adopt older teens or something.....fostering is hard
