I have gotten a strong recommendation from my agency not to travel to Liberia, but to allow an escort to bring her to the US. There are several reasons for this, not the least being the unrest in the country and the primitive conditions caused by many years of civil war. [I was in fact given the option to travel due to my past African travel experience, etc. but just today my partner and I reached the difficult decision that in fact, I will NOT go and instead allow an escort to bring her to us.]
