freakin' out in NJ
I filed for a legal name change for my 6 year old whose father has not attempted contact in 3 years. I guess when he got the letter, he hired an attorney to not only fight it, but to lower his child support (he owes over 23,000) and for overnight visitation (I don't get it because we supposedly have joint custody). My current husband of 4 years wants to adopt my son, and my attorney almost demands that we file for adoption immediately. I'm just freaking out because I don't know what to expect from this whole thing. Do I stand a chance with this?
