If they choose to remain available for adoption there is nothing finer than to finally get that forever family. Our most recently adoption was finalized two months after she turned 18. She actually requested to sign the adoption decree...not realizing she had to. To her it was special....
After all....where do the older kids/young adults go for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas etc...if they never got that forever family. Go for it if you are doing it for the benefit of the child.
