Well, I can see now that sambuca is something I absolutely
MUST experience!!!

Any kind of alcohol that goes with coffee has my name written all over it!
We'll be ordering an ample supply for Truvy's straight away!!
I'm hangin' out with Shaela today.....but she woke up grumbling about not feeling well -- a suspected ploy to keep her mother from going to work, in my opinion --
but since her big brother is getting married tomorrow, and the big rehearsal "hooo-ha" is tonight, we've been instructed to
stay in today, instead of going out on our once a week, paint the town red, play day.

It's only 8:30 and I've already sent her to bed for her "attitude" and now, she isn't speaking to me, so it looks like we are in for quite a day!
For me, personally, there is nothing that gets my dander up quicker than a five year old with an "attitude"!!! I think sometimes Aunt Sally is a little less "permissive" than mommy and daddy. If I had given even a quarter of the attitude to my parents that she is free to give others, I would have been in
SO MUCH TROUBLE I wouldn't have seen the light of day until I was 21!!! However, when she is in my care, I have permission to dole out the rules as I see fit, and well........I don't do "back chat" (as the super nanny calls it!

) If she wants to smart off to me, I will warn her once.....when that fails, she can go to her room until she feels she can apologize. I kept her in there five minutes (one minute for every year of her age) and then I went in, and asked her if she would like the opportunity to apologize.......she stuck her head under the covers and told me to "go away" -- so away I went, and she has now been in there about an hour, whining, but not coming forward with an apology, and not attempting to get up.......so I will leave her to her "mood". She will come out when she wants.
I would
never make it in the world of "permissive parenting"!!!!!! I never in all my days
dreamed of smart mouthing my parents.....
EVER!!!! Heck, I was 40 years old before I ever said a cross word to my dad, and that was just over a month ago!!! LMAO I've been around a lot of Shaela's friends and their parents, and things are certainly a lot different than when I was a kid!!!! What they call "the right to express themselves" seems to me to be encouraging their sesnse of entitlement -- like they are automatically entitled to just spout off whatever they wish with no repercussions!
Shaela is at the age now, where she wants to contradict every single thing I say!
EVERYTHING I say.....it make me insane....and when it starts at 6:45 in the morning, I feel as tho I had best set the rules down early, or our day is not going to go well!!! LMAO
Well, I think I will take this moment and head to the shower, while she is still pouting!!!!
Chat atcha Later!
Hugs,
Sally
