NYS Registry active or passive? does anyone know?
I am searching for my birth siblings, I am pretty sure that the birth mother is dead and that the birth father/s have not a clue of their daughters. Anyway, I think I have found 2 half sisters and 1 half brother. I am in contact with one of the sisters and we have both registerd with the NYS registry. We know that the birth mom never registered, and that she is dead. How will this affect us being matched up in the registry as siblings? We made no mention of eachother on our applications to see if we would be matched up. We are only 9 months and 2 days apart if our birth dates are correct. Is this possible? If the birth mother never registered, and is dead, can NYS still match us as siblings if we truly are and notify us of such a match without the birth mothers consent? Does anyone know if the NYS registry is an active or passive registry, if you do know then what is the difference in the active registry and the passive one? Please help? I am also searching for my possible half brother. His name is Nicholas Nowacki from Depew, NY. I have no other information on him except for his father's name, and his former home address. I looked for him and found one in New Jersey at a military address and one on Toledo,OH. I have no idea if he is searching for his sisters or if he even knows of our existence! Anyone know him or have information of him? Please Help.
