The last two weeks have just been pretty rough for me, but I’ve managed to get by.

Tonight, I got a very breathless phone call from someone that, I can only assume, got my phone number from my dad or stepmom. It was an old friend from a lifetime ago…she called and said, “Brandy, I don't know if you read the update today, but Brian has been in a horrible accident, and they aren’t sure he is going to make it”.

I couldn’t even respond…

The update is the daily that’s published by the newspaper back home…I do read it, I get it in email every weekday. I had read that there was an accident, but no names were offered.

Brian is M’s birth father.

He has suffered extensive head injuries and a broken back…the friend said he may not make it…oddly, I am sitting here in tears…

I hung up and called M’s mom…we are both speechless.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you say a prayer for Brian tonight…he has a wife and a infant son as well as an older daughter (12 or so) that could really use them…
