Well, if you do approach him again, you probably shouldn't just show up on his doorstep. He'd probably be even more abrupt with you than the way he was on the phone. His rapid hang-up on you initially makes me think that he probably does have something to hide. Not sure that I'd want much contact with him, actually. However, if you have fortified yourself and want to attempt at least one more time, go for it with the awareness that you might not welcome what he has to say. Good luck and take care of yourself. His lack of interest reflects on him, not on you.
