Insurance stinks!
We have had a similar situation. No insurance in the state wants to pay the indemnity benefit (I think that is how it is spelled). Have you looked into CHIP or Medicaid for the little one?
Also, I would check with your religious community. Someone has to know how it will work! With us, we have paid the cobra for a couple months until we can get on husbands insurance after finalization.
