Homestudy

I just had my first homestudy visit yesterday. My husband and I have been appointed by the bmother to adopt her son. He is in foster care at the time. We are in NC also. This is something totaly new to us. We have had our background checks come back already, but were told the fingerprinting usually takes 2 months! This is almost unbelievable. We started inquiring into the process when he was about 3 weeks old. He is now 3 months old. We were told that we cannot have visits with the baby until the fingerprints come back. Our cs said they were already sent to be processed. We were fingerprinted about 2 weeks ago, but I am not sure when they were sent to SBI and FBI. The process is so long. Since we were appointed by the bmother, I assumed the process would progress quickly. I am not complaining as I have so much to be thankful for. I am the bmother of a 18 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. We are just an anxious family waiting to share our love with the much anticipated child!! I know that we have the bground checks, fingerprinting, hstudy, and we had to do the financial statement. Other than that, what else are we to expect? Are credit scores used to aide in the decision? We would like to know as much as possible.
