All 3 of our adoptions were different lengths for ICPC. We live in WI. Our first adoption was in MI. ICPC took 1 1/2 days! She was born on a Wednesday night. When she released from the hospital on Friday morning, we had already gotten our verbal clearance!
Our Second daughter was born on a Thursday night in IL. IL requires a 72 hour waiting period before TPR. So we had to wait the weekend. TPR was signed Monday afternoon & by Friday we had ICPC verbal clearance. During that time though we stayed in a hotel right on the boarder of IL & WI, only 1 1/2 hours from home. Hubby & the other kids got to visit us twice during the week.
Our son was born in OH. It was a DISASTER! He was born on a Saturday. TPR was done on Wednesday. We were told we'd be there no longer than 2 weeks. Once it got closer to that 2 week mark I began calling the OH sw. She told me to relax because it could & VERY OFTEN does take up to 6 weeks!!!! Well needless to say, I made sure things got done ASAP & we got verbal clearance to leave at 2 weeks. Sometimes the sqeaky wheel really does get the grease! LOL
