I understand your concern.
My sons birth father has the disease and the doctor said that my son has a 7% chance of getting it.
It worried me at first but now it doesnt matter.
You love your child regardless and you find ways to manage.
It isn't usually triggered until the late teens to early twenties so you have plenty of time to bond and develop a plan of action should you need it.
dont let your worry consume you, you will never find a "perfect" child and I'm sure that this child would blossom with parents that are as caring as you sound.
