How do the ap's feel about revising contact? If you are all okay with stepping back for awhile, I dont think it would adversly affect your birthchild. Just leave the door open. Have you talked to her ap's about your feelings at all?

I think my choice of adoption was a selfish one. I didnt choose it for my bchild, I chose it for me. Being selfish isn't an evil thing.
