non-ID info / publication
I recently got my non-id info from the NYS Dept of Health and it was just like what you got - mother's nationality, age, my weight at birth, VERY little info. BUT I got much more info from the actual AGENCY that handled the adoptin - in my case Family Services of Westchester.
Do you know your agency? If it was private I think the attorney has your file. I know at my office we have archived files of some private adoptions.
About the publication thing - my adoptive mom told me they DID do this in my case - I did research the law and in NY it was optional/discretionary to publish notice but some judges did it - MY judge did... I have checked some NY newspapers but my birthfather was in Ireland so my next step is to find out which paper the publication was done in... but YES it was done so good luck to you sleuths out there in finding the legal notice!!
