Hi VMitchell,
I am responding to your message. I am a foster parent and have been for almost 10 years and I have been blessed to have been the foster mother to about 40 children, mostly under the age of 8. Many babies. It is SO easy to become attached. We become foster parents TO help these children, hoping they can get with their bio families,,,IF all works out right. In some cases the children need LONG term foster families or are put up for adoption. I found the best way for myself to deal with the children being placed in other homes, regardless if with Bio family or with special needs foster care, etc....the best thing to think of, is; prepare yourself, believe you are a care giver for HOWEVER long that special child NEEDS you...whether it is only a few hours or many years. Also remember that no matter what you have made a friend for life with that child.
I pray that this beautiful baby you have in your care, will be taken care of and will be lucky enough to be placed in the best possible home, if its with the parents, or family, or if it is with you...I hope things will turn out fine for him. In the mean time, bless your dear hearts, there is need of people like us.
