Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I was involved in a private domestic adoption that fell through, but we chose to work with an agency because they were able to terminate parental rights within 72 hours of the baby's birth whereas a lawyer is longer. Not sure how long, but much longer than 72 hours.
Even though it didn't work out, I would choose an agency over an attorney for that reason alone,
