i don't know much about your son's background, but my attachment specialist was just at my home last night and we were going over some notes from a conference she had just attend (i think the speaker was ken miller - but i cannot be sure). anyway one of the things they noted in children who had had tramatic experiences for prolonged periods of time was early onset of puberty. tramatic could be definded and abuse to the child or even being in a home with prolong domestic violence. maybe someone else has heard this also or there might be some research on the internet about it. if i find out more, i will post.
