My husband and I recently adopted a child of alcoholics (both the biological mother and father reported themselves as being alcoholics, although the mother denies drinking during pregnancy.) I am interested in knowing if anyone else has dealt with this issue. I have read conflicting research about our child's risk for alcoholism and am unsure how to broach the subject when the time comes. Has anyone else been through this situation before?
