We visited four times. Each and every visit was worth it. It is hard to leave, yes, but I told myself I HAD to leave her behind and that seemed to help me deal with it more. The hardest visit was when we went for her first birthday and we'd been at this for close to a year and still weren't in PGN because of lack of visa preapproval. We had absolutely no idea when we'd be bringing her home, and it was TERRIBLE to leave her on that visit.
Then, we planned another visit a few months later - only to find out a week before going that we were out of PGN! That was a WONDERFUL visit, as we knew it was only a matter of a few weeks and we'd be bringing her home for good. Hopefully the same will happen to you if you do decide to visit!
