Our son's birthmother's first due date was mid-January, then she had an ultrasound and it was changed to early February. When she told us, I nearly dropped over. Not that 2 weeks is such a big deal, but when the waiting is almost unbearable....2 weeks seems like a lifetime. Every time we saw her she seemed sure that "it's going to happen soon". After she had to be induced, she said,"I guess I was wrong all those times.....but I also thought he was girl girl until the US" Just try and enjoy your last moments of time together alone....go out for a few nice dinners (won't be seeing those again anytime soon!), maybe even a nearby overnight.
After we completed the initial paperwork, we, too, were scared to go anywhere too far away or make any big plans. But we did plan some close weekend getaways and always made sure our social worker knew where we would be and when. And we always checked the cancellation policy!
