It will be hard to tell her, no matter what. Maybe something that might help ease the situation is showing her you're mature about the situation, and have most of the answers to her questions figured out already. It might make her feel a bit better knowing that she's not going to carry you through this big situation. That you know what you're going to do and that if she want to help it would be fantastic.
