Hello, I am also trying to get my nieces and I am currently in the process. This is what we have gone through so far.
ICPC is the agency the worker is talking about.
"This is also taking place across state lines as Danielle is in South Dakota and we are in Wyoming. The worker told my mother that they wanted to do a home inspection. I read something about an interstate compac (not sure what that is about). There is also supposed to be a hearing soon to sever the mothers rights but i'm not sure about that. "
And they will come out and do a home study to make sure your home is "suitable" for the child. (That was a pain.) Fingerprinting and a whole lot of waiting. lol
My nieces have been in foster care since December 15, 2003 and it is now May of 2004. And we are still waiting to get them from TX (I am in GA). Our home study is finished and on the way to the case worker in TX, I don't think she has it yet though.
What happens after this? I don't know but I will try to keep you posted if you wish.
