Hi 79nic,
No form of contraception is totally reliable, and the pill will not protect you from STD's.The condom doesn't protect you from all STD's because many can be spread by skin to skin contact.
Cases of chlamydia are on the increase.Chlamydia is often symtomless and can cause infertility if left untreated. If a first pregnancy is aborted surgically there can be a risk of damage to the cervix, increasing the risk of future miscarriages.
Many counsellors now recognise PAS(post abortion syndrome),which somewomen experience after abortion. There can be feelings of grief, loss, guilt, anger, depression, etc which many women find hard to deal with.
If you are pregnant try and find some good unbiased counselling to help you make your decision, and make sure you are not rushed as what ever decision you make will have long term consequences.
If you are able to talk to your parents,I'd advise that you do.
The reality is that any sexual relationship could result in a pregnancy,or possibly a STD so each person needs to be prepared to face the consequences.
I hope it works out well for you,
Jude.
