So far trying to deal with a light hand and some humor. He's having the sex lessons in school this week (he's in the 7th grade.) I know what he's learning, they told the parents about it, but when I ask him, he rolls his eyes and says "Mom! If you want to know, you come to school and take the class!" Something I started a few years ago when he did the DARE class is, about once a week, when we're doing our morning goodbyes, in addition to the "have a good day", "learn a lot", "I love you", I add "No sex!" "No drugs!" I get eye rolling on that one, too, but I figure they can't hear that too often . . .

Interestingly, on the alcohol - I drink very very very rarely, and it happens that he'd never seen me drink at all - so when we went out recently with friends and I ordered a beer, he was tremendously shocked, and I had to talk to him about how having a drink does not mean being drunk, and there is such a thing as an adult drinking responsibly - he had never been exposed to anything other than excess, and he didn't know there was such a thing as responsible drinking.
