Need help/cost question/need real info...

Hello,

obviously we are trying to adopt a little one.. When we first started out we started looking for "waiting kids" and got very discouraged - long story.. Then we went on to international adoption.. got discouraged after issue in that country.. Then we looked at domestice but trying to "keep the costs low"..

while we know it is possible to adopt an infant for less than $10,000, (independant nor birthmom fees just legals and travel) we are not ereally how sure this actually happens.. while we have been lucky to have been told obout several of these situations we have also been "competing" with numerous other families for these kids..

We are open to children of most races and bi and multi racial..

So.. in the mean time we have also "passed up" a few situations.. they were simply too much.. one was $37,000.. I still cried for days as the baby was just here and basically waiting for us.. we just could not justify it..

Then we had another situation that was right around $23,000 and again we passed.. just too much...

So.. seriously.. how many of you have been able to adopt a child.. under $20,000 (including legals, agency/fac fees, travel etc)..

also.. for those of you that had to travel with ICPC how much did you spend while there (hotel food airfare)

Also.. for those of you that had independant adoption or otherwise.. what is an "average" you should "plan" on for birthmom expenses???

All please help me to get a realistic idea of what we can look at paying...

Also.. for those of you that do not want to disclose fee's on here.. please feel free to PM me..

THANKS

Mandy
