I have a few questions, we had a baby 10 days old dumped on us we, he was a drug baby, I walked the floors sometimes for days at a time with him, we had him for 7 months, our county agency was going to help us adopt him, he was AA/C, but I didnt care. The birthmom showed up at my door late one night with papers for me to appear in court, to say why I had the child, but the police officer on duty didnt read the papers he took the baby and gave him to the mother, it took CPS 72 hours to find the child, he was placed in ICU upon finding him. I had just taken him to get his 6 month old shots, he had a mild cold, the mother kept him out in February hiding with him, he ended up with RSV and Phnuemonia. We asked to get the baby back, went through the homestudy and everything, we were told we were going to get him. Then the mother named a guy that might be the father, without a DNA test he said he was the father the judge named him the legal father and he recieved custody, the birthmom cant be around him (so thats a good thing).

I said all that to ask this, we had the homestudy, and were wandering if that homestudy would work for us to use to adopt a child now? Does anyone know? I guess I am being foolish in wanting to adopt now, I am 45 years old, my husband is 51 years old and dying. We have 3 grown sons, I just want a child, I have alot of love to give, I am even willing to take children with special needs as I have had dealings with that.

I see all these children getting dumped and feel like just putting ads in the area papers if you want to throw your baby away throw it my way. Am I being selfish, wanting a child knowing I am loosing my husband? Please advise me, thanks, Cheryl
