Hello,

I know the frustration you feel. I just found out, 3 years after my mothers death, that she apparently put up a child for adoption in 1949. So, after summing up all my courage, I've been calling all the old aquaintainces of my mother who I think may known something. I've called long distant family members I haven't twice in my whole life. I've asked for e-mails of other family members. I joined Classmates.com under her name (this has proven especially helpful) and have e-mailed every person that may have gone to school with her and explained my dilema. I've called all the school districts where she went to school to get dates of attendence. All of this has given me a very probable birth father name, has helped me narrow down my sibling's birth date to late 1949 and has given me a city of birth, Portland, OR.
I'm still e-mailing, calling, searching the internet, etc... Use every avenue I've listed and any others you can think of.It's actually amazing what people will tell you when you come right out and ask. One knew every since 1950 but never told me anything about it (although she told me plenty of other gossip about my mom) until I had already found out from another source. Then when I asked her directly she told me all she knew.

Good luck to you!
