My daughter's hair
Hi. My daughter will be a year next week. She isat least half AA and possibly Samoan (just saying that by the way she look; we don't know who the father is). She has a lot of hair! So far things have been going all right with her hair except she really hates to sit still for having it done! If I put on a Baby Einstein video it goes a little better but she really hates to have it done.
At first I used baby oil on her hair till she was about 6 months, maybe. For the past few months I've been using California Baby shampoo and conditioner, which I leave in her hair. In between the washings I use a Suave conditioner, grape scented, which to me works better than some of the products especially made for AA kids. It's not sticky like some. I know it's cheap but it works for now! Do you all think this is okay? Sometimes I use a spray-on detangler too. With some of the products I use, her hair looks moist for a while but then looks dry within a few hours.
I usually put her hair up in puffballs (2). I sometimes leave it up when she goes to bed. Is this a no-no? I used to use rubber bands (the tiny ones) but they started dissolving in her head or breaking right away when I used them. I thought her hair was just too thick for them but I don't know. So now I just use the stretchy, colored hair things. (don't know what they're called) They hold her hair pretty well if I wrap them around 3 times; they're the little ones.
I'm going to enclose a picture of our daughter in a separate post because I had written a message and enclosed pictures and it didn't work so I lost what I'd written. I know I'll have more questions for you all but it's late and I'm tired and can't think of them at the moment.
Thanks!! Kathy
