That is rediculous. My daughters bmom decided to give her rights up after 11 months of foster care and her doing nothing on her care plan. It was never a question about who would adopt her. Her whole bfamily lives on the other side of town from us. We could run into any of them at any time and that was never a problem for dfs.
Does DFS know that bparents are willing to sign away rights? Sounds to me that maybe DFS is trying to get out of paying subsity??? Hang in there and make them do what you want. Eventually maybe they will give in.
