Adoption of a step-child - almost divorced
So, your fiance wants to adopt his step-son from his about-to-be ex wife? Is she in the step-son's life at all? I would think that he'd want to settle the issue of his step-son and adoption before he thinks about/looks at divorce. If he's already divorced or in the process, that's going to make the adoption less easy. My dw was VERY supportive of the adoption - if I would have had to get both her consent AND that of her ex - that would have made things much more difficult.
