Hi ElleKay!

While we, ourselves haven't had a situation yet with our agency, I was just thinking that maybe you and your husband could call other international adoption agencies and see if anyone could be so kind enough to maybe speak with you about THEIR ways of doing things, compared to this agency you're working with....

If it's something that's kinda the same across the board, well, then I guess there's no getting around it, but, if not, at least you'll know that your agency is doing something different.....

Also, maybe you could contact an international adoption attorney that could assist you as well, contractually speaking.....I know when we were looking for attorneys who specialized in international adoptions, they were very willing to speak with us on the phone first, for free....

Also, try posting the name of the agency here on the boards, then more people could respond and tell you if they've used them or not....that might help too....post on the international side too, on the country you're adopting from as well....go to the international adoption page here on this website that's on the main page....

Also, I believe I've seen someone mention that there's a legal page here too on the forum or something like that....maybe we can find that for you as well....

Good luck to you...God Bless!

Melody
