Be really careful when they say "The mother won't get them back". We were assured of that repeatedly and now, even after we've had a TPR (termination of parental rights) with a no contact order, the birth mtr has filed a petition with the court to reinstate her rights.
According to what we've now been told, she really won't succeed, but it's delaying the process and adding to everyone's heartache - especially the kids. Also, there's a remote chance she'll get it. I'll just be glad when it's over.
That said, I'd really, really encourage you to try! That little boy needs you from the sounds of things. Best of luck.
