I am an adult adoptee, and I have seen all sides to every equation regarding adoption throughout my life. I wrote my college research paper on adoption..pros & cons...when an adoptee should be told...what were ramifications of choice...most done by interviews from bmoms, adoptees of all ages, and my own personal experiences. I am married to a bfather, my deceased best friend who faced an abortion because of a rape, an adoption because she could not raise her baby, and later her 3rd child she kept finding her bsister after given a letter from her mom when she turned 18. Anyway...without further ramblings....kudos for the blog site. I always found search sites whenever I searched adoption, but never blogs of people's feelings. I have seen good reunions, and I have seen bad reunions, so before attempting anything other than perhaps getting medical info etc., I want to do my research! I also want to be in the driver's seat. I don't want somebody knocking at my door telling me they are my bmother, anymore than I would ever be so narcissistic or selffish enough to go knocking on someone else's door. It could be devastating to all concerned. For now I will just stay on the side lines, viewing, researching, deciding what my next step will be. I always felt there should be a place to find out if each other was looking..for free, no fees. It could then be a mutual decision and both could be in the drivers seat.
