You don't say how old he is. That makes a big difference. If he is around two or three, it could be "developmental stuttering" which he will grow out of. Until you know for sure, my advice is -- be patient. DO NOT "help him out" by saying the word for him, or act impatient. Don't talk about it to others in front of him. If there really is a problem, then the speech therapist will be able to tell you exactly what steps to take in order to help him.
