Ah, life's paradox...you long to hear the word "mom" and then you wish they'd stop saying it ALL THE TIME.
I know there are differing opinions but you might consider popping in and giving hima little reinforcement when he calls mom..at least right now while it is new. It could help solidify your bond to let him know that he is being heard. I don't know if E is still in a crib, but with DS, I come in and give him a hug while he is standing in his crib and let him know I will be back when it is morning (or naptime is over).
I am so happy that E is showing his love for you...
