I am sending thoughts your way.I know how you feel.I lost my 2 angels 3 months ago after having them for 3 months and it still hurts BAD.
I had a good-bye visit planned but the family never showed up so I took the clothes to the worker. He said that the kids are doing well although, the move was hard becasue they did not know the cousin and did not want to be there at all.She said the oldest was confused saying that he now has 3 mommies and 3 daddies.
It torn me apart hearing this becasue she was the one that was more distance to me but at the end she was coming around.
I too feel that the situation is not the best for the children, not because the family member is bad, because they are not bad people. It is because I think the family has taken on more then they can handle with their own children and these children who have gone through so much.
I would like to say it gets easier and I am SURE it will with time, however with me it has not gotten better yet. Hopefully it will start to get easier when I get another placement. I know it will not take away the pain of losing them, but I am hoping it will help me to move on.
I pray that they are as happy and happier then they were with me and that things go well, but if they don't I will be there to help them pick up the pieces.
Find comfort in knowing that you have done a good job with them and always cherish the memories.
